What are E, F and G codes?
BMW uses internal development codes to distinguish vehicle generations and body variants. E, F and G are code families. They are not a promise that a steering wheel with a similar collection name will fit.

Start with your exact model and vehicle year in your vehicle paperwork. Ask a BMW retailer to confirm the chassis generation from your VIN if you are unsure. A model badge alone, such as M3 or X5, can cover several generations.
Send a clear photo of your current steering wheel and tell us the model, year and options you know. Airbag shape, controls and wheel specification can vary within the same generation.
Ask SPECDEPT to confirm fitment, airbag type, specification and price. Do not assume that an F chassis needs an F Series design, or that a G chassis guarantees a G Series wheel will fit. Installation requirements must also be checked with a qualified professional.
